Magnetometry and Photonics

Our research focus is on the investigation of the interaction of magnetic/electric fields, VIS-, IR-radiation and acoustic waves with solid and soft matter. We combine various analytical tools (SQUID-magnetometry, VIS-, FTIR-, Raman spectroscopy and laser-optoacoustics) to explore the magnetic, optic and acoustic properties of crystalline, amorphous and particulate materials. Biological tissue is the part of “soft matter” biophotonic research.

Cryogenic infrastructure (liquid helium) has been built up to expand the experimental possibilities and is also available for external services.
