Apart from physics, my other interests are football and travelling to new places. Fortunately physics allows one to travel quite a bit in the form of schools and conferences.

I am also a trekking enthusiast. I have done trekking in Sikkim, the Garhwal Himalayas and to Chandra Tal and Suraj Tal in the Lahul valley of Himachal Pradesh so far. I have also done some hiking in the Western Ghats. Here are some writeups and about my treks and see some pictures of the Himalayas.
I like to travel in general and so far I used to do it without a camera on the pretex that it was bulky and difficult to carry and one had to be careful with it. This angered my friends enough and in the finally one of them presented me an olympus stylus epic which fits nicely in a modest sized pocket. Since then I have put it to use. Whether it is to good use or not is left to your judgement. The first time I tried it out was on a trip to Allahabad and Lucknow. To see the results you can visit the Pictures Gallery.
