The astrophysics research at the University of Graz is focused on two main areas:
The solar and stellar physics research teams benefit from their interactions and the in-house interdisciplinarity in state-of-the-art topics. These synergies were systematically developed and strengthened over the last decade, and place the group internationally into a strong position.
The group also operates at the "Observatorium Kanzelhöhe" a solar and environmental research on the Gerlitzen (Carinthia) and at the "Observatorium Lustbühel" in Graz; night observations are carried out here for teaching purposes and for selected research projects.
The group is also a service provider for solar, heliospheric and ionospheric weather as part of the ESA Space Saftey Program.
