Solar Irradiance and What You Can Do With It
University of Colorado, Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP), CO, US
The Sun’s radiant energy powers the Earth’s climate, making variations in that energy is important to measure and understand. I will discuss those solar-irradiance “Sun as a star” measurements and their effects, focusing on the spacecraft instruments involved and on the reconstructions of historical solar variations and their Earth-climate influences.
