Was sich am Himmel tut, das erklärt Univ. Prof. Dr. Arnold Hanslmeier vom Institut für Physik sowohl im Hörsaal als auch bei populärwissenschaftlichen Vorlesungen. Nun hat er das Wissen allgemein verständlich in einem neuen Buch zusammengefasst. „Die Sonne - der Stern, von dem wir leben“
Die Sonne hat eine zentrale Bedeutung für unser Leben, das wurde auch schon von den alten Kulturen erkannt. Die Sonneneinstrahlung ist letztlich bestimmend für das Klima auf unserem Planeten, doch die Strahlung der Sonne ist nicht konstant. Welche Auswirkungen hat dies auf unser Klima?

Stürmische Sonne
Wissenswertes und Spannendes über die „stürmische Sonne“ gibt es in Kürze auch im Rahmen von „Wissensdurst – die Wissenschaftsviertelstunde im Pub“. Astrophysikerin Assoz.-Prof. Dr. Astrid Veronig ist am 14. Jänner 2014 um 20 Uhr in der Vortrags-Reihe der 7. fakultät in „Brot & Spiele“, Mariahilferstraße 17, zu Gast und berichtet über das spektakuläre Phänomen der Sonnenstürme und deren Auswirkungen auf die Erde.
