In “Physics Pre-service Teachers’ Approaches to Scientific Investigations by Data Exploration” (Link: https://www.ejmste.com/article/physics-pre-service-teachers-approaches-to-scientific-investigations-by-data-exploration-8536) Thomas Schubatzky, Benjamin Bock and Claudia Haagen-Schützenhöfer analyse and report how physics pre-service teachers organize their investigations during an exploratory data analysis scenario. The used learning environment gives on the one hand an insight into the investigations on a micro-level (a single investigation) and on the other hand into the investigations on a macro-level, how the micro-level investigations are sequenced and how conductions are made. The results show that some teams switched between targeted and exploratory investigations and other teams always started all their investigations with a research question.
