Exoplanet research has entered an era, where the stability, sensitivity, and accuracy of our instruments and spacecrafts would allow the detection of Earth’s twin. However, inhomogene-ities on stellar surfaces cause temporal changes in the observed signals, which cannot only mimic, but completely hide any signal that is caused by a planet.
