The Research Career Campus Consortium "Theoretical Particle Physics", which provides since 2006 continued PhD-level education on the basic laws of nature, expand interdisciplinary.
With the new principal investigator Philipp Berghofer and his team of the institute of philosophy of the GEWI faculty genuinely new questions will be posed. Philipp Berghofer just received the first professorship on the philosophy and pheneomenology of physics in Europe, and works on the foundation of quantum mechanics, including the measurement problem, and the reality of particles in gauge theories.
Already in the past close contacts existed between both areas, which led to extensive common teaching, publications and the common project with the Kunsthaus Graz starting this year. Now also the education of early-career researchers will gain a new focus on the relflection on the nature of posed questions and obtained answers. This cooperation will also be carried into the GCP, and is unique in this form in Europe.
