Wie sich Schüler:innen Klimawandel vorstellen

Systematischer Review zu Schülervorstellungen zum Klimawandel veröffentlicht

 

Im Rahmen eines Kooperationsprojekts mit der Universität Innsbruck haben Sarah Wildbichler (Uni Innsbruck), Claudia Haagen-Schützenhöfer (Uni Graz) und Thomas Schubatzky (Uni Innsbruck) ihren Artikel „Students' ideas about the scientific underpinnings of climate change: a systematic review of the literature“ in der hochrangigen Fachzeitschrift Studies in Science Education veröffentlicht. Die Zeitschrift gehört zu den führenden Publikationsmedien (Q1) im Bereich der naturwissenschaftlichen Bildung, mit einer Acceptance Rate von 3%, was die Qualität des angenommenen Beitrags unterstreicht. 

Der systematische Review analysierte 44 peer-reviewte Studien aus den letzten zehn Jahren, nachdem insgesamt 579 Artikel gescreent wurden.  Die Review-Studie bietet eine umfassende Analyse, wie Schülerinnen und Schüler zentrale wissenschaftliche Konzepte des Klimawandels, wie den Treibhauseffekt und den Kohlenstoffkreislauf, verstehen. Sie zeigt, dass viele dieser Vorstellungen unvollständig oder fehlerhaft sind. Dies ist besonders relevant für die Bildungsforschung, da ein fundiertes Verständnis dieser Konzepte entscheidend ist, um Schüler für informierte Entscheidungen und Handlungen im Zusammenhang mit dem Klimawandel zu befähigen. Die Ergebnisse sind ein wichtiger Schritt, um Unterrichtsmaterialien und Lehrmethoden gezielt weiterzuentwickeln und so eine Generation heranzubilden, die besser auf die Herausforderungen des Klimawandels vorbereitet ist.
